Man Assaulted In Parking Lot By Armed Assailant
Sheriff’s deputies were called to a local market Monday after a clerk noticed that a man in the parking lot was pointing a gun at a customer.
Sheriff’s department reports show that deputies were dispatched to Buffalo Road Market just after noon. The clerk reported that the driver of a silver car had pointed a gun at a customer in the parking lot. He told deputies that he had run inside to call for help, but that the customer had sustained injuries.
When deputies made contact with the thirty-six year old victim they found that he had a laceration on the side of his head.
He told them that a man he knew had struck him on the head, took his truck keys, then left. He said that there were at least three other people inside the car at the time.
The victim declined medical attention. He was able to provide deputies with the name and phone number of his assailant. Department investigators arrived on the scene and took over the investigation, which is currently on-going.
